LUCKY STAR PT SCANLATION WHAT
Here's the third chapter's link:
http://www.mediafire.com/?97a53abeskxgym5 It was done in MS Paint, and I rushed it in only a few hours, so the quality isn't great. I'm already working on the next one though, and I'm using GIMP, so it should be better (and take more time). Hypothetically, I could do this one in a few hours too, but I don't have that kind of work ethic, and doing it over a few nights is probably better for the quality. The raws were provided by SilverSpoon, and the initial cleaning was done by Maya Osaka. Translation and typsetting were done by me. EDIT: And don't mind the random switching between fonts... I'm not going to do that anymore. Fourth Chapter: http://www.mediafire.com/?gguf4exfkasnt59 Fifth Chapter: http://www.mediafire.com/?431txdnni78o3d2 Chapters 6 and 7 are also done; look through the rest of the thread for them

Haha, lolwut you? Doing something helpful? No. Surely you jest! Watch, that link is probably like a rick roll or something. I mean, you wouldn't possibly translated lucky star just for the sole purpose of altruism and practicing japanese!

Almost all of the kanji had furigana (and the ones that didn't I could just use IME Pad + Google Translate), and the language wasn't too convoluted. It would make sense to use the opportunity to gain status. And practicing Japanese is a great reason alone. Not that I would have done this if there wasn't a place to post it.
EDIT: 9/29 pages of Chapter 4 done... might continue after playing some Shin Gyakuten Touhou. EDIT2: Just looked over the Chapter 3 scanlations and found a whole bunch of grammatical errors and typos... I'm not going to fix it, but I'll be more cautious this time. EDIT3: 16/29 pages there... I think I'm going to stop for now.

One question, how should I translate long strings of お(The first part of the long o sound, where the long o sound is pronounced "ou" and the お is the "o" part of the sound), as in おぉぉぉぉぉぉぉぉ?
Right now I'm translating it as Oooooooo, but it looks like the oo sound in "boot" or "shoot".

Context? Generally speaking, I'd just TL as "Whoa!" But since I do anime fansubbing, space and aesthetic appeal is a lot more critical/difficult as well so depending on context, you can probably extend the "Whoa" with a few extra "o"s and/or "a"s. Generally speaking, try to keep as much of a translation as grammatically correct as possible.
Can anyone drop me a raw link so I can TLC this? (For the newbies that don't know me (admittedly, I don't come on very often anymore) I'm a native Japanese speaker and have been translating for some time now.)

Silver Spoon has the raws.
Not a native Japanese speaker, but one of my parents is, and I went to a Saturday school... until fourth grade, at least... Chapter 4: http://www.mediafire.com/?gguf4exfkasnt59 I've decided to name myself Liberal Scans for the time being. Thanks for the input 7h3101im4idw0lf, sometimes it's hard to find an English equivalent for certain phrases and I sometimes leave things like sound effects in. I'm not very confident in some of the things I had to translate, so a TL checking would probably help my confidence and prevent me from screwing up xD EDIT: I have the link to the raws, but I'm not sure if I should give them out without Silver Spoon's permission
