Anime stands for animation and symbolizes an image that are animated, and not taken. And a Manga is a type of book you reed from behind (From the right to the left). So when they say they don't like the Anime of naruto the don't likke the look of it. (in a picture form)

Like you say here, there are huge differences between the anime and the manga. The images are highly dynamic in the anime to the point where it looks like fluent movements. In the manga on the other hand, the images are much more static, and you have to imagine the movements yourself. The manga also seriously lack colours, while the anime has a lot of colours.

If there's anything I've noticed that almost no one else has, it's that the characters don't use certain words like "super" or "totally" nearly as often as in the anime, nor do they talk about anything "stinky" out of context.

The English dub is horrible, so what can you expect?

Actually, I kinda meant that positively. Not to mention that the "stinky" gags were present even in the Japanese version.

Love how you jump to the conclusion that he was talking about the dub when he made no such claims about any dub/sub.

I figured it was from the English dub as he mentioned the use of "super" and "totally".

You're actually right. I was comparing the English-dubbed anime to the English-translated manga, an irrelevant difference between their Japanese-language counterparts.

For one thing, the manga goes on way longer, and new characters get introduced in it (that aren't in the anime)

Volumes 4 and on of the manga are worth checking out if you don't want a copy of the anime
