Watching episode one. I quite like this! Finally, after more than a decade, there's something from Pokemon that actually feels new and interesting!

Spoiler: show
I quite enjoy the fact that this anime shows what some of the things from the games would actually look like that have never been animated before, like Red trying to catch another trainer's Pokemon. I also like that new animations and sounds have been given to things like the Pokeballs. And most of the music is made up of orchestral versions of the game themes!

The battles are also much more physical and intense than before.

I'm definitely gonna watch this one all the way through.

episodes 1 and 2 were great :D
Spoiler: show
the way Charmander was screaming in pain, ooohhhhh it wasn't a nice sound :o
silly Red, don't try to steal other peoples pokemon
i like how it kinda confirms the theory that gym leaders adjust their pokemon usage depending on how many badges you have~
so it's skipping through stuff in a save-file type way, i like that :3
the story about Marowak being killed was so sad
Cubones empty eyes ;_;
the translation i'm watching has random spanish lines every so often :P
those must be jewels of mega evolution
haha Green

edit: and so were 3 and 4~
Spoiler: show
y'see this is why i don't usually watch pokemon subbed, if you're going to translate something into english you should use the official english names and terms :I
it's fine when it's done to other franchises, but the fansubbers for pokemon just bother me
golly what a powerful Rhyhorn :O
Giovanni had a change of heart, how nice :3
the last episode has some really good animation, it's like they saved up most of the budget for it
i like how they kept in the reference to South America :D
you've got to feel sorry for Green, he finally became the champion, then Red came along and defeated him before he'd even got settled in to his position :(
Moltres, Articuno and Zapdos get!
oh wow, Green was seriously badly beaten by Mewtwo :o
nice to see a Mewtwo that doesn't talk for a change
Mega Evolution! it doesn't belong here, but i'll allow it, because it's an awesome fight scene ^_^
wait a minute, he doesn't have a Mew, he must catch it!
ohai Mew~

that was cool

Watched the first two episodes. There were some off-model moments, but the battle animations are really well done.

W-why couldn't my childhood anime be like this?

I watched it yesterday. It's a better version of the one with Ash, since it's closer to the game. Too bad it's short and a lot of gyms were skipped. Charizard gets hit by Hydro Pump and survives, but Blastoise faints from Fire Blast? Was that a critical hit? They did something like that in the Ash and Gary battle.
Can't stop listening to White Album.

It requires a critical and being overleveled. Or being insanely overleveled.

Other factors: Charizard is Level 50, Blastoise 36. Charizard has 31 IVs and Blastoise 0 (which is fair, as that's how the game runs the AI IVs)

0+ SpA Blastoise Hydro Pump vs. 4 HP / 0+ SpD Charizard: 60-72 (38.9 - 46.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

252 SpA Charizard Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Blastoise on a critical hit: 93-111 (91.1 - 108.8%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO

Satoshi would be a fool to turn this down, unless there's something I don't know about Serena (I'm not familiar with the Pokemythos).

Big picture is big.
