Last Game You Bought

List the last games that you bought or were given. Pretty simple, really...

I bought the Ai Yori Aoshi visual novel a few days ago, and about a month or two ago, I bought Hourglass of Summer. And in January, I got Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut.

the last game i bought was Assassin's Creed 3, technically i only pre-ordered it, but I paid the full price so it counts~
if you don't want to include pre-orders then it was Kid Icarus: Uprising all the way back in March

Picked up Knights of the Old Republic 2 from a bargain bin, haven't gotten around to playing it yet.

Spec Ops: The Line.

An awesome game, certainly not given the attention it deserves.

I honestly disagree.
Yes, it's a nice adaption of Heart of Darkness, but that's all it is. The gameplay is very generic for its genre (it's also a laughably short 4-6 hours of length), the sound design is poor, the graphics and art style are nothing impressive or unique and even some of the darker moments in the story feel a bit forced. I commend them for attempting to make a heart of darkness adaption in the form of a video game, but I wish they would have done more than that.
Don't mean to offend or anything, just my two cents.

Anyway, the last game I purchased was Kingdom Hearts: DDD. Pretty good game overall, though the story is the most convoluted in the series yet.

Apparently it was good enough for you to try it out.

I'm not offended, and i can totally see why one would think like you do, but personally i liked every aspect of it. Who cares if the gameplay is generic if it is fun. It kept being entertaining long into my second playthrough, the guns were well made and realistic for a third-person shooter.

The graphics were nothing special in terms of technical power, but there was tons of nice touches all over the game. While sand was underused, it had a lot of destructable environments.

The Art Style was fantastic in my opinion. And sound was atleast decent, while music was good and voice acting great.

There was also large amounts of brilliance in the story that is only visible upon closer inspection. Much of the dialogue, even the name of your current mission at times, has a meaning behind it.

And things like Walker's descent into darkness making him more violent, angry and ruthless along with wounds that stack up over the course of the game adds a lot of immersion.

And the story isn't really forced, as it isn't your story, but Walkers. Without forced choices, it could never tell it's story.

I'm not arguing against or anything, just voicing my opinion.
