Oh the great Fats Domino, I still walk around singing his old stuff. Total classic, awesome music for the sake of music.

Malcolm Young, co-founder of the legendary Australian rock band AC/DC, died Saturday (which probably means Friday to those of us in the Americas). He was 64. He had been struggling with dementia for the past three years or so, which had forced him to retire from the band.

May he rest in peace in Raspberry Heaven.

Obituary article from Rolling Stone.

One of their classic hits.

I'm not trying to spam the thread; blame the Reaper, not me.

Country music legend Mel "M-M-M-Mel" Tillis died this morning at the age of 85.

He was almost as famous for his stutter--which disappeared when he sang--as for his musical talents and skills.

May he rest in peace in Raspberry Heaven.

Obituary article from Variety.

One of his biggest hits:

Mr. Tillis was almost more famous for his stuttering problem. He was out-front about it, decades before it became fashionable to confess to having a disability. I'm not a Country Music fan (if anything, I HATE Country Music for the gigantic overgrown corporate behemoth that it is and always has been*), but I have a certain respect for Mr. Tillis for being open about his disorder, at a time when having a stutter was akin to pinning a target on your chest, inviting public ridicule.

(*I actually don't hate the music, just the horrifying corporate-complex that strangles it)

Jim Neighbors, more famous for his roles as Gomer Pyle (in "The Andy Griffith Show" and "Gomer Pyle - USMC") than for his operatically-trained voice, has died.

Pat DiNizio, lead singer and songwriter of the Smithereens, died Tuesday at the age of 62.

May he rest in peace in Raspberry Heaven.

Rolling Stone obituary article on his death, which also contains links to several of the band's songs.

I consider the Smithereens to be one of the most underrated bands in rock history. This is a song not included in the RS article's links, guest starring Suzanne Vega.

Death rarely gets a break, does she?

Dolores O'Riordan, age 46, of the Cranberries, died suddenly in London, of causes still unknown at this time.

May she rest in peace in Raspberry Heaven.

Rolling Stone obituary article.

The RS article includes YT clips of three of their biggest hits.

This one, not one of the three, is my personal favorite by that band.
