Touhou 13.5 ~ Hopeless Masquerade

Saw this posted by a page I have liked on fb, went to the good old wiki, and it looks like this is legitimate.

TH13.5 will be a fighting game, like 7.5, 10.5, and 12.3 before it.
It will apparently support a native resolution of 1280x720, larger than what we've previously had, and at least to me, gives off a vibe of being fairly different from the previous fighting game installments we've had.

It is, as would be expected, going to be created with the assistance of Tasogare Frontier.
The official site has some screencaps to go along with it, and as one can see, they certainly appear different from the previous fighting games that have been released.

Even though I'm terrible at fighting games, I'm looking forward to this simply because: new Touhou, and this might give me incentive to learn how to play them.
'twill be interesting seeing what new characters they add, and which old ones will join. :3
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It appears that a new demo has been released(you can find it on Tasogare Frontier's website for the game)~
In addition to everything from the previous demo, this one features:
-A new stage based on the Human Village(Marisa's stage; BGM is a remix of Magus Night)
-Some new moves for the 3 characters we have
-Netplay

Time for me to give it a spin :3

EDIT:

It appears as though the game is confirmed to be released on May 26th, the day of Reitaisai 10.
Get hype.

I expect that they'll reveal some of the playable characters in the days leading up to the release.

Just passing through and saw this. Such delightful news!

I think I read somewhere that a majority of the Touhou fans(in the English speaking community) have barely if ever played any of the games, let alone become masters at them- so it's certainly possible to be a fan without having cleared any of the games.
I'd also have to say that Touhou is much more than just the games anyway, which is one of the things that make it so awesome :3
Regarding the games being difficult- it's all practice, practice, practice. 1CCing a game for the first time is an amazing feeling.

You're very welcome :3

Also, TasoFro's page for the game seemingly mentions something about religion, and supposedly mentions Taoists, as well as Byakuren's temple. Hopefully this means we can play as the UFO and TD casts in full(I want some Nue).
It's to bad this won't likely be released for a good amount of time, but I think we can hope for a demo soon enough.
EDIT: or rather, the wiki has a nice translation of the text on that page here: http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Hopele...ation/Prologue

I cannot wait to carry on the fine tradition of watching old episodes of Minder while halfheartedly button mashing!

New sprites? That's a turn up for the books.

Supposedly there were plans to include Mokou and Kaguya, and a couple of other characters that I forget (maybe Nitori?), in 12.3, but they were cut due to lack of time. You may take that with a pinch of salt, as the source was an internet imageboard, but the fact that they've released another fighting game so soon after the last could imply unfinished business.

I'm not too fond of the fighting games, so I will probably not play this much.

I go away for a weekend and then this happens.
So excited, I really enjoyed the fighting games (just because I like something else that normal bullet hell)
