Sgt. Frog (Keroro Gunsou) FUNimation English Dub!!

The new FUNimation-produced dub of Sergeant Frog (or Keroro Gunsou) is finally released on FUNimation's official website!! (well, at least the first 4 episodes)

The new cast as of the first episode is as follows:

Keroro - portrayed by Todd Haberkorn
Natsumi - portrayed by Cherami Leigh
Fuyuki - portrayed by Leah Clark
Aki - portrayed by Jamie Marchi
Yayoi - portrayed by Kristi Bingham
Satsuki - portrayed by Kate Oxley
Saburo - portrayed by Joel McDonald
Narrator - voiced by R. Bruce Elliot

The new dub resembles FUNimation's Shin Chan in that it uses modern-day popculture references in lieu of Japanese humor (It even switches the year from 2004 to 2009 in the first moments of episode 1!). What do you all think?

I saw parts of the pilot episode. I did a triple-take when they corrected the year 2004 to 2009! :D What other dub is THAT THOROUGH?!

But why do I have the feeling this show was dubbed before?

ADV Films originally had the rights to dub the show two years ago, and even finished dubbing a few episodes (which were never officially released). However, the economy struck them hard, forcing them to liscence off over 1/3 of their anime and manga inventory to other companies, mostly FUNimation. FUNimation, in effect, recieved the rights to begin dubbing Sgt. Frog, and that's where we are now.

Oh NOW I remember where I heard it from! We hear the voices for some of the characters from Stg. Frog during a Lucky Star preview! :O They used the same voice actors from that show... well one of them in the dub, anyway.
