What is your opinion on it?
In case you do not know what it is, this is what it is in short...
The universe is the way it is now because humans could have served it and determined it the way it is. "I observe, therefore the universe is." Because by observing the laws of physics in constants, Humans can observe the fact that the universe exists at all, when that happens, the existance of the universe becomes open to view. We could say that the human beings that observe the universe haven't evolved as far as it is, we would have no observations. It wouldn't matter if it existed or not, therefore the universe is because human beings know it is.

To be perfectly frank, that sounds stupid. What does our perception of something have to do with that thing existing? What makes us so special? There was a time when people didn't know the earth was round, but it still was, wasn't it?

I like Koizumi's view from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. "[Even though it's unlikely], The anthropic principle is an interesting way to view things."
Sometimes things just provide an interesting point of view. An example would be, I am an atheist, but learning about the world's religions is still fascinating.

That's what I believe, even though people think I'm weird because of it ~nyaa-nyaa...

The theory of it makes little sense. It's like answering that ancient question "If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is around, does it make a noise?" by saying "No, it doesn't."
This does provide interesting theories when applied with the Uncertainty Principle...

How do we know that the world we live in is real? How do we know that we are real? How do we know that the world we live in isn't actually a virtual world created by superintelligent other beings, and that we are not fictional characters in a game?

It is impossible to prove or disprove either of them. However, the question is - Would it matter? If we did realize we were non-existant beings, would life really change?

I don't think humans are the centre of the universe, that's what was common knowledge in the 15th century.

^Aliens are real ~nyaa-nyaa.
Anyways, back on topic--No, life wouldn't really change if we realized we weren't real (for *us*, at least).

^Aliens are real ~nyaa-nyaa.
And if aliens are real, that supports the idea that humans are not the centre of the earth.

Which was exactly my reason for posting that. :P

Idk electric, you think the same way I do...
I don't strongly believe, but I do realize and sort of favor the idea/theory that we aren't really people, just a figment of something else like memory or, as electric moon said, a fictional world in a fictional setting in a fictional game
Aside from that, I've always wondered, is there REALLY someone other than me?
I have no intentions of sounding like a selfish self centered bastard but I will, simply because of the theory which happens to have a name idont remember
So hat if everyone around us don't really exist? At least like they don't have control over themselves and exist for the sole purpose for *me*(this can apply to everyone here)
That the world started existing only to bring us forth and will cease to be when we cease to be
Yes this sounds very selfish but that's
This folows somewhat along the idea of the anthropic principal
I don't strongly belive, but I recognize the idea and would resort to these theories/ideas/principals rather than any major religion (no offense to anyone here)
