Midway Arcade Treasures 3 (Nintendo Gamecube) *Mainly San Francisco Rush 2049*

Yeah...that's all I've been playing lately. I love San Francisco Rush 2049 and I cannot believe what Midway Games did to the San Francisco Rush franchise and turned it into L.A. Rush I mean what where they thinking? L.A. Rush is too realistic as well and that is not fun at all. San Francisco Rush is all about high-speed action with some crazy jumps and other stuff like that, but in L.A. Rush it's much harder to do. Do yourself a favor and stay away from L.A. Rush or the PSP update just called Rush. The graphic style may look nice, but what where they thinking it has more adversiting than a EA Sports game! Even licensing soundtrack ruins it. Next time Midway Game make a San Francisco Rush game the way it is!

I'm currently playing most of the time is Build 'n Race, yeah that game is addictive and I got for ten dollars at Best Buy. I don't normally buy Budget Titles because most of them are complete shit, but when I played Build 'n Race I was happy and it's the fourth racing game I got on the Wii the other three are Mario Kart Wii, Excite Truck, and Cruis'n.

Well I haven't bought a budget title since I bought Cruis'n on the Nintendo Wii back in 2008 for thirty dollars, then later I've realized that I got ripoff. But I loved The Fast and the Furious for the Arcade and I was expecting alot for it's console conversion, but you get a glitchly mess. Why the fuck Midway Games charged you thrity dollars for Cruis'n? There's no other features besides Arcade Mode and Circuit Mode, also Two Player Mode. The Extras tease you thinking there will be emulations of Cruis'n USA, Cruis'n World, and Cruis'n Exotica. But you get fucking trailers. Well the game is pretty fun, but gets boring after a while. Midway Games should've charged you ten dollars maybe twently dollars, but not thrity dollars. What the fuck was Midway Games fucking thinking?

At least Build'n Race is a improvement over that, it has more modes, more stages, a track editor. But it lacks on Cars and Car Customization. Also there's not enough environments, if they made a Build'n Race 2 they can add the seasonal and time system. Also there should be more environments maybe Tokyo or Hong Kong. I say Build'n Race is the best budget title since Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution and Cruis'n should've been like this.

Although I felt sorry for Midway Games for going bankrupt, maybe new copys of Cruis'n will be made by WB Games and it better be improved or it will be the last time I buy games from Midway Games aside their past games for the Nintendo 64. Sorry for the cussing and rants I hope I don't trouble you so good night.

Finished F.E.A.R. and now I started F.E.A.R. 2..... The second game is kinda weird, possibly because I played the first game on the PC, and now I'm playing the second one on my 360.

Also, I just finished Ace Attorney Investigations today. It's probably the best AA game so far. Even better then Trials & Tribulations. And now I'm not sure which case is my favorite: Rise from the Ashes or Turnabout Ablaze. Both are so damn epic.

~Need For Speed: Undercover - Firebrand Games/Electronic Arts - Nintendo DS - 2008~

Review:

Ever since the Need For Speed franchise has made it's transition to Portable Consoles, some are okay, and some don't fare up compared to the Home Console versions. A well-known developer known as Firebrand Games, who did Race Driver: GRID earlier this year. Firebrand Games has now developed Need For Speed: Undercover for the Nintendo DS. The story in Need For Speed: Undercover doesn't make much sense, I wonder why they put a story to this game. Unlike in Race Driver: GRID, Need For Speed didn't include a Track Editor, but instead add more options to customize your cars, which it's great since Race Driver: GRID's Car Customiznation wasn't too great to begin with. The Gameplay in Need For Speed: Undercover is quite good, it has a good sense of speed unlike in Race Driver: GRID. In Need For Speed: Undercover adds a refillable Nirtious system, which it adds to the Gameplay, although I found the A.I. to be too easy and a total cake walk, also there's a feature to slow down time during the race, I never found a good time to use it. I really hate that there's no Free-Roam Mode where you go anyway you want. The graphics in Need For Speed: Undercover are crummy compared to Firebrand Games' other Video Games, but it doesn't have the glaring sun from the Nintendo Wii version. Another thing on the graphics is that it might be build off from Race Driver: GRID, the menus are almost identical, but made a few changes, and some of it's font was thrown in there too. Need For Speed: Undercover's soundtrack is quite good at fire glance, but then you realized, this is all I'm listening too? Maybe a few more Music Tracks could be nice to add in from the other versions. The Sound Effects are good, but some of them are recycled from Race Driver: GRID. Overall, Need For Speed: Undercover is not a bad transition, but it's a decent addition to your collection if you don't mind the shortages compared to the Home Console versions.

Grade: C +

~Presentation~

Back in 2003, Big Mutha Truckers was released on every console. It got mixed reviews amongs crtics, but it manged to sell well in the sales department. Then in 2005, a sequel to Big Mutha Truckers came out called Big Mutha Truckers 2. But sometime after Big Mutha Truckers 2 came out, a well-known developer called RayLight Studios decides to bring Big Mutha Truckers to the Gameboy Advance and the Nintendo DS.

~Packageing~

The packageing for Big Mutha Truckers is quite lame, well on the front it uses the European Boxart instead of the American Boxart and it adds a nice touch. On the side, well a very small logo and a piece of artwork, it's really bad if you want to see what Video Game you want to play. On the back, it's plain, but I like the description. On the Card, well it's just a logo and a copyright stuff that shouldn't be on there. The instruction manual is quite lame as well, there are no screenshots and it's in Black and White, not only that it has a lot of text.

~Gameplay~

Big Mutha Truckers lets you to choose 4 differnet characters, all of which are the same. There are 5 differnet locations to travel to, each of these locations have a Shop, Garage, and a Bar. In the Shop you buy or sell stuff. In the Garage you refuel, repair, modify, and switch trailers. In the Bar you talk to people to get hints, and missions. However in the bar, you encounter loan sharks, they give you money, but they will take your truck if you don't pay it off, resulting in a Game Over. However at Big Mutha Truckers, Inc. you have an exclusive option where you see your rankings, and talk to Mom to find Missions.

While on the road, you drive the destanation that the GPS leads you. While on the road, you need to avoid the Police and the Bikers, because they mess with you if you attack them. Also on the road, you need to shift to Higher Gear, if you slow down to much, you automatically go to Lower Gear. Before you hit the road, you encounter a rival from another company who wants to race you. Well you wager the money and if you win, you get the money, if you lose you lose that money.

Unlike in the Console Version where your Mom gives you directions on how to do certain things, well you have to read the instruction manual to know how to do it. The bad part is that there is no screenshots. Nice marketing DSI Games!

~Graphics~

RayLight Studios really outdone themselves this time with the BlueRoses Engine, well mostly during the driving portion. But beyond that, you can tell that Big Mutha Truckers was indeed a budget title. They took the backgrounds and such from the Gameboy Advance version and strech it out. RayLight Studio's biggest problem on the graphics outside of the driving portion.

~Sounds~

Big Mutha Truckers has 5 radio stations, a country station, a rock station, 2 techno stations, and the Random Station. Yep it's indeed ported from the Gameboy Advance version, maybe a remixed audio or maybe Nintendo DS exclusive Radio Stations would be nice, but that's besides the point. The music in Big Mutha Truckers is nice for the first time around, then it gets stale like the Gameplay, although it tries it's best to emulate the console versions. Although the Console Versions had licensed music, but this conversion doesn't due to licensing issues.

The sound is also ported from the Gameboy Advance. Well the sound is just generic, it doesn't sound what is suppose too at times. The engine sounds like vaccums, and the honks sound like broken horns. But overall, the sound is quite good if you get pass these problems. Some of the sound effects are ported from the Console Versions.

There isn't too many voice-overs in Big Mutha Truckers. First off the voice acting has been removed. However on one of the radio stations, you get to hear some of the DJs and some of the bikers, however it's in low-quailty. Also when the bikers chase you, the players can hear their voice as well. Sometimes you can't understand what they are saying due to low-quality sound.

~Lasting Appeal~

Big Mutha Truckers isn't a terrible, but it's worth having in your collection. Big Mutha Truckers will last you a while, but it's strangely addicting because of that and breeze through Big Mutha Truckers within a few days. But if you get pass the repetive gameplay, it's really enjoyable. But overall, it's worth checking it out.

I just finish playing earlier today and its an all round ok game. its only about a 15-20 hour game. Even for its style its pretty short. The story line is odd but somewhat entertaining, cut scenes are watchable. game reminded me of The Legend of Zelda a lot. you get an item in dungeon then use that item to complete it, theres a boss you need to defeat at the end of it all, you have a horse you save to ride around on. Theres even something that resembles the hook-shot.

Pros-
hit system work nicely
controls are easy to use
environment looks to par for the setting
a weapons level up system
freedom to run around and go back to previous locations
weapons look really good and dark
I likes the dialog but thats just me

Cons-
fighting gets bland in no time and though you get more weapons and combos it doesnt add much
enemies and bosses for the most are too easy. one or two may prove to be a challenge but these are in very few numbers
weapon selection is very small and less then that are effective
puzzles needed no effort to come complete them only a tiny hand full need a sec of thought process to figure out.
graphics reminds me of rescue heroes. War (the character you play as) has a huge torso, hands and feet with small legs and head

Unless you are a big time player of Third- Person Adventure/Action game,

Just ascended my Pastamancer for the first time in Kingdom of Loathing. I'm trying out Ronin just for the heck of it. Also, I just finished the Holy Macguffin quest on my Disco Bandit multi. Useless confetti is useless. On my Sauceror I'm stuck on the Nemesis cave because of a bug with the paper strips.
