OK, so I extract the files, then get this cdi file, then what?

After you extract the files, you need to download Daemon. I downloaded Daemon Lite. Install that.

Also make sure that you change your language since its a non-unicode program. go start>control panel>regional and language options>administrative and click on 'change system locale' and switch it to japanese. then reboot.

Depending on which one you downloaded you might not have the full voice, so you must patch it using the voice patch.

to install it, open daemon and use it to run the clannad cdi file, it will open the install, and from there you install the program normally. take note that the installer should be in japanese, if not, then you didnt change the right thing.

after installing, install your voice patch and download his english translation here http://rs306gc2.rapidshare.com/files/94848405/5331133/SEEN.TXT and go into the root folder and overwrite the SEEN.TXT that is in there.

click teh left button. after you install it, its gonna ask you something about direct x. i just installed that too. also after installing, theres gonna be that same window but with a new button in the middle, i think thats to run the game.

well I was trying to upload the full game with all the patches and no needing to install it so I can make it easier for you guys but apperently you HAVE to do it the hard way with no shortcuts............ anyway, i'm sticking with the ps2 version, I like it better :)

Okay, the root folder for clannad is located under my computer>c drive>Key.

Open the Key folder, and paste SEEN.TXT and the KOE folder from the patch. Youre gonna overwrite the SEEN.TXT.

Copy koeicon.g00 into the folder G00.

Also in the root folder, look for Gameexe.ini, open that and look for the line

#FOLDNAME.KOE = "KOE" = 1 : ""

highlight that, and copy the following bolded lines.

#FOLDNAME.KOE = "KOE" = 0 : ""
#WINDOW_KOEPLAY_USE = 1
#KOEREPLAYICON.NAME = "koeicon"
#KOEREPLAYICON.SIZE = 32,32
#KOEREPLAYICON.REPPOS = 540,50

Overwrite the old line with the new lines, and save it. Should work after you do that.

Which seen.txt did you download? if youre using the one that was with the voice patch, that one didnt work for me. but the one i linked earlier off of rapidshare worked.

Accecss the in game menu [esc], the option 4th from the bottom, then the very first menu at the top of the select screen you see, select the button in the top left. Hope this helps

The torrent basically IS the game, no changes from the CD if you actually imported it. So any patches would work on it

When is this? I've met Nagisa, but only outside the school on my way there, I haven't seen her in so long, and I haven't met Kotomi yet. (Grrrrr) I've also met Fuuko, but she's also disappeared.
I did a lot of stuff with Sunohara, and I just went on a date with Ryou. Heavy stuff in that date I tell you, pretty romantic.
I'm pretty much doing what I'd do if this was IRL, and getting put with Ryou XD

I think its still on april 15? as far as the choices go, i played the tape deck and apologized to ryou, then on one save file i stayed in class and the other i skipped it. the one i skipped i ended up meeting kotomi in the library, the anime is pretty much play by play of what happens with kotomi.

im amazed that they kept the original sound track the same for the anime, but im not complaining, its a fantastic soundtrack.

oh wait, let me correct myself. you meet nagisa after sunohara gets dragged away during lunch time. if you skip class, you meet kotomi. if you stay for class, you make sunohara a fool of himself. you meet nagisa if you choose to go out to the courtyard.

I think it goes like this, Tomoya was going to regret that he ever met Nagisa, but then he thought that it's better that he met her and gone through all the stuff he went through, then to never go through it at all, and that brought Ushio and Nagisa back to life sort of, or rather he went back in time and Nagisa didn't die.
But Tomoya still has the memories of when Nagisa died etc, even though she's alive.

Yes I did get the secret training part, and I don't know, Kyou just sort of pushed Ryou on me and one day Ryou asked me if I could be her boyfriend and I choose yes.

Play the game but whatever you do do not watch the movie. It is REALLY BAD. It's only 1 hour and 30 min long so its cuts out ALL character development and also the animation and art direction is horrible It sounds like I'm making this up but the characters are ugly as hell.

CG mode is a gallery of all the special screen art in the game, so if you liked the art in a certain scene in the game, then you can go there and look at it.

Music mode is a basically a place where you can listen to all the music in the game, even the music from the ending credits.

Okay I got it installed and the language is in English, but not the menu options when I click escape or backspace. So how do I save the game, or even close it? And the volume of the background music is too loud, how can I put it down?[hr]
I think I figured the saving, loading and exiting things out, but the volume control?
Perhaps someone could say what all of the menu options are?

Option 1: Not sure, I clicked it and it just goes to the next text, but you can't click it again.
Option 2: Continue/remove text box
Option 3: save
Option 4: Not sure, can't click it.
Option 5: Settings

- Options A:
Fullscreen/normal
show/hide date
Not Sure

- Options B (Volume):
BGM (Background Music Volume)
Voice Volume
Clicker volume (When you roll over an option with your mouse, it makes a sound.)

- Options C Text BG Colour:
Red
Green
Blue
Brightness

- Options D Text Speed:
High - Low
Font (I think.)

- Options E Quality:
Not sure about the first three options, but after that it just has different options for quality and speed overall.

- Options F Close/Back

Options 6: Back To main menu.
Options 7: Exit/Quit Game.
Options 8: Return to game/back.

There is an error for Kyou's route on there, though.

you should know that it's incorrect. You should choose "call out" instead of "run away" at May 7th

After the election, she lost, and told Tomoya that she would drop out of school with him so they could live together. And then it just went to the main menu. Did it end? Was it a band ending or..?

The last dialog goes like this:
Tomoyo is saying that she wants to drop out of school, and that she will live with Tomoya. She asks if sounds good, and after some hesitation, he answers that it will be great.

Then Tomoya is thinking:
"It feels like I'm forgetting something important. But, as we became adults, I guess that sort of thing doesn't matter. Holding something like that won't come. That's why, the two of us lived, somehow lacking something. But that was fine. If we held too many things, we'd become weak. Not looking for things we've lost is fine. That's why Tomoyo... Don't go anywhere. I won't be... searching for anything else anymore. Right, Tomoyo?"

Then it ends. It was very sad. Like none of their dreams come true, and that they had to give up their dreams or something.

The screen blacks out and takes me straight to the menu.

I think I just cleared the game.
Tomoya was with Tomoyo, and she didn't manage to be in the school council. If she did she'd have to break up with Tomoya. After the election, she lost, and told Tomoya that she would drop out of school with him so they could live together. And then it just went to the main menu. Did it end? Was it a band ending or..?

The last dialog goes like this:
Tomoyo is saying that she wants to drop out of school, and that she will live with Tomoya. She asks if sounds good, and after some hesitation, he answers that it will be great.

Then Tomoya is thinking:
"It feels like I'm forgetting something important. But, as we became adults, I guess that sort of thing doesn't matter. Holding something like that won't come. That's why, the two of us lived, somehow lacking something. But that was fine. If we held too many things, we'd become weak. Not looking for things we've lost is fine. That's why Tomoyo... Don't go anywhere. I won't be... searching for anything else anymore. Right, Tomoyo?"

Ah. As I said in the topic for the anime, I have finished all of the major and about half of the minor arcs. I stopped playing though. I got a bit of a backlog for VNs now (I'm working my way through Kanon and Shuffle), but I need to go back finish Clannad. I loved it so much.

8routes. Then, you get After Story by following Nagisas route again. Or you can do hers last, then save the day before you receive her light, get light, start the save, and continue from there to After Story.

Sorry, I just failed. Anyways, there is a guide on one of these pages that might help you. There are a lot of things that could have gone wrong, too. That's what made me a little frustrated when I first played it without a walkthrough.

I think if I remember correctly, I am working towards Tomoyo's good end route, and to do that I need to do Misae's route first, I think I'll continue it when Christmas comes.
