It's fun, challenging, and quicker than writing fanfic chapters. I'm going to be as in-character as possible, and I have a pretty good track record, so I hope we can all have fun with this! So here's going in character...now!)

Hi! I'm Izumi Konata, and I will be answering your questions today. I'll answer anything except the kinda stuff you'll find on 2ch. Cuz this forum is PG-13. But! If you have a burning question about the latest episode of K-On!, need advice on romance, or stuff about my awesome life, go ahead and ask! It's the internet, so you have nothing to be ashamed of. We're all otaku here.

Hrrnnn....mnnn....that's a really tough question. >( Because, sometimes I'll even buy something from a show I don't like that much, so long as the product is interesting. And sometimes I'll find out about a show I've never heard of by buying a cool poster or something.
I guess...the only thing I absolutely won't buy for...is something-- if anything-- that I never encounter. Contrary to popular belief, I'm not aware of everything that's out there! 1. Romance is fun, and I guess it's necessary to a well-rounded life, but I don't need it. I play fighting games and MMOs too. As for guy or girl, well I usually play the guy, and try to go after the girls. A lot of my favorites are tsundere. <3

2. Hmm...I would probably check him for some kidna special tattoo or amulet. That's usually the first important clue as to whether you're dealing with somebody that has an epic destiny or not. I would also save right before interacting with him to see how many flags I could trigger.

3. I'm the hero, usually with the big sword. But sometimes I like to mix it up and play the assassin.

4. ;-; I'm really upset. I wanna get mad at Kyoani but I can't help but feel like I owe them...so I'm mostly just sad. But it really is so awful!!! I Just have to keep faith that all my love and passion will reach their hearts! Perhaps it's taking so long because they want to make sure it will be that much more AWESOME. Yeah! I bet that's it! I'm so psyched!

5. I don't really think about it that much. Kagami says I should think more about my future but I figure I'll be okay whatever happens. As long as it doesn't compromise my hobbies, I'll be happy.[hr]

I think I heard about that. Yeah, they were making out to be pretty bad, but they're probably exaggerating. They always exaggerate just to scare people about otaku, so it's probably not as bad as they're making it out to be. Besides, I never get sick so it'll be fine.

It depends on how they're pulled off. For example, Tendo Akane is super-violent, but she can be so dere that it balances out. Also, he deserves at least half the violence. Asuka is also super-violent even when she's not provoked, but that's okay because it's funny, she's cool, and Shinji is pathetic most of the time.
So I guess it just depends on how much dere or other quality balances her out, and how lame the guy she's with is.

It was hilarious, Misao was about to jump off a building because Kagamin didn't love her, but she wanted to see Ayano before she died, so she wouldn't die alone. Espers have neat powers, but they're also super-organized and the powers only work under certain conditions.
Aliens are cool, but lacking.

Why do you think people flame each other in forums? Or start annoying other people for no reason?


Well, flaming happens in a multitude of ways, for a multitude of reasons. Sometimes it is a matter of passion for both sides, which disagree and never will agree. Such is the case with Gundam Wing yaoi fans vs. Heero/Relena fans.
Other times, it's just because they are bored. The boredom induced flamers strike irregularly, and sometimes infrequently.
Boredom flamers can digivolve into mean-spirited NEETS, Hollows--or whatever you may call them--if they begin to fail IRL and online. Those types spend most to all their time trolling to try and make everybody on the internet feel as awful as they do-- or create more of their kind. Be especially careful of those types. The best thing to do is completely ignore them, or make one snappy comeback and THEN ignore them. Good luck.[hr]

For that first one, it's probably my dad. He's the kinda guy that would sneak up and get all touchy-feely like that. Fortunately, I have ninja reflexes. Just in case it's not my dad, I'd probably go all chestnuts-roasting-over-an-open-fire*-- just to be safe.

As for the superpower....just one thing? Hrrn...that's hard.
I'm already a blackbelt and really fast...
...I guess I'd like the power of super-persuasion. I'm already good at it, but if I could get anybody to do anything for me, or give me whatever I want, then that'd be awesome. I'd be invincible by default, because nobody would want to do anything against me. And I'd get everything I want.

You did. The job is pretty fun for those reasons, and the crew is great. Though, I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't get paid. Quo cards, remember?[hr]

She's good, but she's not professional yet. I think she could get there. She needs to develop her story-crafting a bit more, and she should work with tones more, I think. She also tends to skimp on backgrounds.

Well, there're basicly like a good RPG, what with the fighting and the item collecting, except they have the benifit of being with all kinds of real people. I like working with teams of real people rather than NPCs in RPGs like FF all the time.
I also like how it's always being upgraded. It doesn't just end like a regular game.[hr]

It is a conch shell that has been slowly softened and infused with sugar. It's very expensive so we'd never be able to afford them if I hadn't won a livetime supply when I was 12. They're not the healthiest thing ever, but they're what I have in abundance. That's why you see me eating them EVERY day. At least they taste good.

Then again, it may be sugared lamb hide.

It may be infused with sensu bean extract. I think that might explain some of my boundless energy and power.

It's Grade A protein. Kinda bitter by itself but it gives great energy.

I know about them. I showed them to Yutaka, remember? Hyorin was devastated, though. I thought it was kinda funny.
Yutaka mostly seemed embarrassed, but it wasn't that big a deal. She knows the explicit stuff isn't as based on her real self...I think.

No, no, no! You've got it all wrong!
Though copyright laws protect original authors to an extent, the fan doujinshi phenomenon is so big that the anime industry would lose money trying to stop it. So nobody really cares. Comiket is essencially a doujinshi market, for both original and fan doujinshi. Doujinshi artists and circles self-publish their original work AND fan-work, and sell it.

Doujinshi artists are not professional because they do not make their primary living off of their work. They also aren't published. They have to self-publish. That is why doujinshi come in VERY limited numbers--which is also why I have to hurry at Comiket so I can get to the popular groups before they sell out!

Doujinshi = non-professional comics. It doesn't mean fan-comic. Doujinshi doesn't have to be fan work. It can be an original story. For example, Higurashi started out as a Doujin-game---that is, it was made by a group that did not work professionally with a publisher, and each member had a day job. CLAMP also started out as a doujinshi group, before they got a publisher. Those doujinshi artists that are producing original works probably hope to become professional. But since they don't have a publisher and have other day-jobs, they are not professional yet.

It is true that most doujinshi are fan-works, however, because that is popular.

Although a very large percentage of doujinshi is hentai, not all of it is. Doujinshi =/= hentai.
