This is just a thread where people can ask questions about their PCs so they can hopefully get help from others. Just don't get upset if no one can answer your question.
I'll start with my problem. For some reason, when my PC goes to standby mode it disconnects from the internet so I have to restart my PC, is there a way to fix this?

Why do you need to restart your computer when you reconnect to the internet? I'm pretty sure my laptop disconnects from the internet when I put it on standby.
Where's Blu when you need him?

Well, my PC seems to connect to the internet perfectly fine when I start it up, but if I put it on standby while it's not connected to any online service (such as MSN) it'll just disconnect and I can't reconnect without restarting it.
Also, Blu is on MSN but I wanna know if someone else can figure it out before I ask him.

Hmm... not sure if I can help you there, I'm afraid. I'm not sure what would make you restart to reconnect.

How the hell do I get rid of the coloured border around the text of my icons on my desktop. I can change the colour of it, like if I go to display and change the colour, but I just want the text to be there, not this crappy border which ruins my background.

It is a normal-looking folder? And you can't access it, whether you double-click on it or right-click+open it? And you've got Windows OS?
Maybe it is not a folder? Perhaps it is a file that you can't open (for some unknown reason), but its icon has changed?

My pc connects to my router through a usb wifi adapter, the Linksys WUSB54GC to be exact. I've found that if I put it into sleep mode it will disconnect me from my router...
I think its just a glitch, but when i just unplug and plug it (the adapter) back in it will reconnect.... it should work the same if you connect through an ethernet port
Thanks for the help! I haven't tried it yet but I will when it happens again. ^_^
