Azumanga daioh translates to "Great King Azumanga" yet there is no king whatsoever. But yet it could be a metaphor for something in the series
Cute name for a cute show? xD *shrug*
I don't know. ^^;

Azumanga Daioh
Azuma - Kiyohiko Azuma, manga-ka
Manga - Manga, what Azumanga was originally
Daioh - Dengeki Daioh, the magazine where the manga was serialised.
As for why Lucky Star is called Lucky Star, it just is. It's not unusal for manga/anime to have names in English, such as Bleach, or One Piece.

It is called Raki Suta. That's just how Lucky Star is rendered in Japanese.

1. Lucky Star may as well be part of Patricia's idea of them being in the School Festival. Rember Patricia saying it's fanservice?
2. Lucky Star is moe in itself.
3. Star refers to being famous huh? So what if you...a simple high school student / otaku...are being featured in an anime. Doesn't it make you lucky?
#3 is my best bet for the secret behind the anime name: Lucky Star.

But the name "Lucky Star" was made many years before the anime even was a possibility.

ok then change anime to manga...problem solved =D
Hey I heard that on DARKMOON the Japanase anime site that's like 4chan that some L*S artists are still doing some L*S art on a Japanese artist site named Pixie because they're bored or liked the chactors a lot and some of of their art even gets ripped on Crunchroll! Can we tell which art is theirs? It's got to be the most real looking art exactly like from the anime!

Pixiv?
I haven't really looked at much LS art on there, I must admit, but there are some very good artists on the site. I'll have a look.
Also, is this the right thread for this?
