Favourite Game Genre?

What type of games do you like most? Strategy Games? RPGs? FPSs?
I, myself, like Strategy games (hence for Fire Emblem being my favourite game series.)

1) _Turn Based_ Strategy. Something where you can plan out every move with the best results. Advance Wars tops off the list
3) RPGs. Something where it's just fun to go in circles and kill stuff. Therefore, Fire Emblem (A TBS RPG) is fairly high

I like a mix of all of them!
I like games from the First Person perspective, with deep Character customization, open world is nice but its not a necessity, High Intensity Level, High Skill Curve, Player Choices, a intriguing Plot, The ability to effect the world,Multiplayer is greatly enjoyed but not necessary, I will play 3rd person shooters and strategy games as well.
But Borderlands is High up on my anticipation list because it includes most of the things above! (Not to mention 500,000 different guns not to mention attachments and Ammo types, internal upgrades, party boosts, 500,000 different base armor types not including attachments such as shield boosters, power nods, and vehicle customization on the same level, plus an expansive open world,and 4 person CO-OP that allows you to bring your Character into the other players world AND keep the loot and exp gained in their world! )

Sneaking! I love the thrill of sneaking right past the enemy without them being any the wiser, or sneaking up behind them and KILING THEM!

And FPS I guess, but not as fun as sneaking.

Pokemon is fun as well, I drift in and out of it, but I like the story segments of the games.

If you mean by stealth games, I'm pretty sure there are quite a few around. I had a game called "Thief: Deadly Shadows" on the original Xbox, and it was a pretty good stealth game at the time. "TES4:Oblivion" has a fairly good sneaking system as well, well... much better than the previous game's one, which was a bit... disastrous?

I personaly don't care about the genre as much as how well the game is made. For example i don't really like racing and fighting games, but I occasionally play Forza and UFC because they're great games. Still, that doesn't keep me occupied very long. I normaly stick to COD4 and Gears of war 2, they're the only games I can play for years and never get bored.

So I guess my answer is shooters in any person.

I'm not a big fan of RPGs, but they are okay I guess. Pokémon is the only RPG games I really like.
I think I prefer adventure games (with no exp. points and stuff like that, something in the line of Zelda) and I also like online FPS.
I like games where there are a great story to it and you have a main protoganist of whom you are playing through.

That's a hard one to decide you know.

I love platformers my favorite platformers are Super Mario Bros. franicise and Sonic The Hedgehog franicise. I also like other platformers like Klonoa or maybe the early Metroid games for an example. I also like Life Simulations like Harvest Moon or the MySims franicise, but I also considered The Sims and SimCity to be God Simulations. I also like some racing games mostly Arcade Racers such as the Cruis'n Franicise or the OutRun Series, but for some reason I don't like realistic racers. I like some fighting games like Tekken or Virtua Fighter or maybe Super Smash Bros., but overall I'm not into fighting games. First Person Shooters are okay I guess I mostly played the Metroid Prime Series and those games where great and I also played some Bioshock and those are great too, but for some reason everytime I played The Orange Box I get sick because of Portal and such. I perfer Light Gun Shooters like Virtua Cop or maybe Ghost Squad.

I'm a mix of retro junkie with some new school stuff, I know you may call me a geek for saying that and I doubt you guy still played in the arcades, heck I grew up with a Nintendo 64 and some arcade games at my local Gameworks in Temple, Arizona. I've been playing game since I was five years old I used to play some point and click games like Myst, I know you may find that hard for a five year old playing Myst, but it was awesome. But now I have a version on the Sega Saturn, all I need now is a sequel which it's only released in Europe. So anyways sorry for talking your ear off I'm just trying to make some new friends. But in the end my favorite game genre is platforming overall because I grew up with those kind of game.

I'm not really a fan of RPG's because most of them make me want to fall asleep. The only RPG's that I've ever finished are one's like Super Mario RPG, where you'd press a button in combat to do extra damage, or the Pokemon series. Shmups has always been my favorite genre ever since I played Dodonpachi at an arcade/pizza place a long time ago.

Still like RPGs the most (cant wait for borderlands and Mass effect 2!), but stealth games went a little up on my list. (though I would still say that Mass effect's story >>> Metal gear's because much less plot holes, twists, and after one game it already has an amazing story equal to quite a few metal gear games)
