LSS Anime Character Draft (Done, Polling in Process)

Okay. I'm sure most people haven't done a draft before. Here's the rules (from what I understand)

GOAL: To create the "best" possible "team" of 15 anime characters. You will have a character from the following catagories:
1) Male Lead (Must be one of the main characters)
2) Female Lead (Must be one of the main characters)
3) Male Support
4) Female Support
5) Major Villian (Must be the final boss of at least a season of the show)
6) Minor Villian
7) Loli/Shotaro (Must be under the age of 15 and look it)
8) Ageless (Must not look like one's age cannonally. This can NOT be because of art. ie You can't pick L*S characters)
9) Pop Star (Must be a singer in the show)
10) Magical (Must be able to cast spells)
11) Memorial (Must have died cannonally)
12) Trainer (Must have been in a "-mons" trainer. ie Pokemon, Digimon, Monster Rancher, etc etc)
13) Pilot (Must be in the military)
14) Non-human
15) Wildcard (Anybody)

1) Just post here before the midnight of the 24th, Mountain Standard time. I'll update this post

Playing
1) On the 25th, I'll post an order to drafting. It'll be determined by Random.org.
2) When it is your turn, you should draft in a post similar to this:
With the (x)th draft overall, (name) drafts (character) from (anime) for the catagory of (catagory)
3) If you wish, add pictures (Not excessively) and a paragraph explaining why you picked that character
4) I'll try to update as often as possible. I'll keep a list of the next 10 picks on this post though.
5) I'll also try to update this as often as possible for picks and whatnot.

- If you take an unreasonable amount of time, I'll move your draft back 2-3 spots. If you have about 4 in a row because of this, I'll drop your team until a good reason is provided.

A rather shy and quiet girl most of the time, Hikari Konohana tends to not be very outspoken and it usually takes a lot for her to say what is really on her mind. Vash the Stampede is the main character of the Trigun series. He becomes known as "The Humanoid Typhoon", "Vash the Stampede" and "the first human natural disaster" due to the destruction which constantly surrounds him, and "The $$60,000,000,000(sixty billion double-dollar) Man" because of the enormous bounty put on his head. He is identified by his signature long, red coat. Despite his reputation, Vash is a pacifist with a goofy, easy-going personality, sometimes exaggerating his foolish characteristics to seem more nonthreatening. He shows an almost obsessive love for donuts and he frequently voices the catchphrase, "This world is made of love and peace," which is usually complemented by his flashing of an alternative version of the v sign. Nagisa is the main heroine of Clannad. Although she is in her third year in high school, as is Tomoya, Nagisa is actually one year older since she had to repeat her third year after an illness that lasted nine months. On the first day of school, she meets Tomoya on a long hill path in front of the school. She has a strange habit of muttering the names of food that she plans to eat as a way to motivate herself, such as anpan and also has a liking of a group mascot known as "Dango Daikazoku" (???????, lit. Great Dango Family). She wants to re-establish the once-disbanded drama club, but does not have much self-confidence so she often needs help in order to motivate herself through the day.

Kanata Izumi was Konata Izumi's mother, who was also very short and bore a striking resemblance to Konata. Kanata's spirit seems pleased with how Konata was raised, despite being a bit unsure of S?jir? exposing their daughter to erotic games, claiming that it could damage her "moral growth." However, she easily recognizes that Konata takes after her father, in both the good and bad ways, which leaves Kanata with a deep sense of relief. Isaac is an idiot thief who owes his success to the insanity of his crimes (i.e. stealing non-valuable items such as chocolate, or breaking into a watch shop to "steal time") and the garish costumes he habitually wears, leading witnesses to assume that he is a performer of sorts rather than a thief. He is in love with his partner-in-crime, Miria. He becomes immortal in 1930, after drinking the immortality liquor.

Another idiot thief, she is the partner and lover of Isaac Dian. Miria wholeheartedly believes and supports everything Isaac says, often even going so far as to mimic his body language. She also unintentionally becomes an immortal in 1930. Together they appear extremely stupid, whimsical and oblivious, but they have great affection for the people they meet—whom they always make a big impression on—and always believe the best of them.

Revy, sometimes referred by her full name Rebecca, does most of the fighting for the Lagoon Company. Very little is revealed about her past, although portions can be pieced together through the series. Revy is a Chinese-American born and raised in Chinatown, Manhattan near Mott Street, spending most of her youth as a thief and murderer. Flashbacks throughout the series reveal that Revy may have honed her skills with firearms by shooting at cans, and that her first murder may have involved shooting an unknown man while using a pillow. It is unknown whether the pillow was used to suppress the noise or to help avoid looking at her first victim. Revy is very competitive, easily bored, and extremely ill-tempered. Unlike Rock, she is undiplomatic, believing in the use of brute force and coercion to get her way.

Although he never speaks and people assume he is a mute, Freddie actually has a good singing voice and the only occasion people can hear his voice is when he sings. The bottom of the microphone stand is broken, referring to Freddie Mercury's gimmick.

She has a friendly personality and enjoys helping others when they need it, which makes her an excellent candidate for the student council. Also, Chikaru tends to be very knowledgeable about the schools and their inner workings. When in Astraea student council meetings, she often lets the other two school representatives argue with each other while she sits back and observes their behavior. She is not easily perturbed and frequently helps out those who have trouble, regardless which school they attend.

Shu Shirakawa the person comes into existence, seemingly fully formed, only a few years ago, just prior to what is now believed to be the initial militarization of the DC began in earnest. His academic career was nothing short of meteoric, though his identity was seemingly lost in the chaos of the riots caused by Gentle Chapman's unprecedented string of wins in the Gundam Fight. By the time he was twenty he had already cemented his reputation as one of the most gifted up-and-coming scientists in the world, and attracted the attention of Bian Zoldark, the head of EOTI. Essentially, upon arriving in the offices of the EOTI, Shu Shirakawa once again ceased to exist as far as the outside world was concerned.

The next time anyone saw Shu was at the helm of one of the DC's heaviest hitters, the Granzon, a mobile weapon which uses the force of gravity itself as both a defensive measure and a weapon.

Lucy is a teenage Diclonius girl around eighteen years old. Lucy has developed strong emotions of hatred and vengeance towards regular humans mainly because of how she was treated by the majority of them as a child, making fun of her horns and giving her insulting nicknames such as freak. She seems to lack empathy, kills without much concern, and acts somewhat sadistically; however, towards the end of the series, she begins to show remorse for her actions, especially towards Kohta.

Villian must be the opponent of the main character. If you're using Death Note, L would count as a villian. Light would not.

Latooni was raised at "The Acadamy", a piloting school that literally puts their pilots through h*** and back from the age of ~10 and up. They also taught most of their pilots to become emotionally dissonant. Eventually though, the Acadamy was closed for inhumane treatment and the pilots were released. Latooni, then 14, was raised by two Earth pilots.

Latooni begins off emotionally neutral, prefering analytical glasses and her piloting uniform. Once though, one of the pilots, Garnet Sunday (Her surogate mother), put on a Lolita costume on her. When her later-love interest, Ryusei Date, finds the costume cute, she adopts it as her own costume, in game that is...in the show, she changes before battles. Over the same course of time, Latooni begins developing, or redevloping, emotions as she begins taking Ryusei as her love interest. Ryusei, a robot fanboy, doesn't return the emotions though...

I could call Latooni a poor man's Yuki, but that really doesn't cut it. Latooni is much of a blend of Yuki and Miyuki. Taking Yuki's initial stoic personality, logical emotions, and knowledge base and Miyuki's moe points, Latooni is a very strong, under the radar pick.

Lieutenant Kitsurubami is an attractive young woman and second in command on Amarao's staff in the Interstellar Immigration Bureau. She is often seen either giving out vital mission data, or on the field in investigations with Amarao. Amarao hits on her in the final episode, but she resists him. In fact, Kitsurubami seems to be generally disgusted by the idea of romantic involvement (and likely any form of physical contact) with Amarao though she looks up to him as a superior and follows his orders loyally. She also seems to become smitten with Canti, despite her initial efforts to attack him with a large caliber sniper rifle. Kitsurubami is named after a light brown traditional Japanese color, which happens to be the color of her skin. Thus, her name could be interpreted as "Lieutenant Brown", although the color Kitsurubami is not the common "brown." She appears to be the only "normal" (or mature) adult in FLCL.

With my 32rd and 33rd overall pick, I draft Raine and Genis Sage from Tales of Symphonia: OVA. They count as Magical and Male Support respectively


Description of Raine from Tales Wiki

Raine's knowledge is even greater than that of Genis, and she is often seen correcting Lloyd or Genis whenever they misbehave, often accompanied with a kick or slap. She is a horrifically bad cook, and supposedly cannot do laundry either, causing her to rely on Genis to do housework and cooking.

Raine is a cool, calculating thinker. She is relatively pragmatic, and tends to think of longer term consequences rather than the short term need to help someone; when Cacao is to be executed, she opposes intervening, because doing so would possibly result in the Desians attacking Palmacosta. She is also somewhat cautious, and is hesitant to help Sheena in Luin, fearing that the assassin’s possibly comrades will ambush the Chosen’s group. Later, it is shown that Raine is generally distrusting of virtually everyone, which may be a result of the feelings of betrayal toward her mother.

Above all, she hates not being able to save people's lives, and will attempt anything to change that. After Governor-General Dorr dies after her attempts to save him with healing arts, she deeply regrets her failure.

Raine was chosen as she is a very famous exception to the personality traits of a typical "White Mage". In game and in show, she is one of the coolest and calmest characters. In addition, said personality is hard to avoid stating is amazing.


Though he is often portrayed as a coward, Genis is actually a very strong boy. When he was born, his family was being chased by the research Laboratory in Sybak because of his sister’s astonishing intelligence for such a young age. About the time he was born, Genis and Raine were abandoned at the Otherworldly Gate by their mother in a last-ditch effort to save them from half-elf persecution by transporting them to Sylvarant. The two later came to reside in the village of Iselia, passing themselves off as pure elves. As a result of the heavy prosecution directed towards half-elves like himself, Genis expresses a dislike of humans later in the game. He is very intelligent like his sister Raine, but unlike her, he is a superb cook whose skills are rivaled only those of Regal. Genis' intelligence is demonstrated more than once on the trip, from an incident on the Ossa Trail to an academic competition at the Palmacosta Academy. As he is a half-elf, he is sensitive to the amount of mana in the air, and is easily able to gauge how much of it there is.

Bai Ji-Shin Chang is the boss of a Thailand branch of the Sun Yee On Triad. Chang is far more proficient, in his dual-wielding gunfighting style, than Revy, who, in episode 11, freely admits that she is "not on his level yet". It is implied that it is he who taught her this style of combat, though that is yet to be revealed. It may be this prowess in combat that makes Chang the only male to whom Revy respectfully refers to as "Sir".

Chang seems easily amused, and unusually-easygoing and lighthearted, especially given his position. But this might be attributed to the fact that he was once a member of law enforcement, which he reveals after being called 'an inhuman scumbag' by Rock and laughing out loud in response, and he might very well be seeing his current position, as a Triad leader, as an ironic twist of fate.

37th overall, I have drafted Misty/Kasumi (Pokemon) as my Trainer


Misty seems to have a slight inferiority complex, especially due to the fact that her three sisters Daisy, Lily, and Violet do not think much of her, claiming that there are only three Sensational Sisters (the name under which they perform synchronized swimming) and one "runt". This complex diminishes over time as Misty grows closer to Daisy. They are the ones who usually take care of the issues related to the Cerulean Gym, although it was Misty who battled Ash when he was battling for his Cascade Badge there.

In the early episodes, Misty is depicted as having a wicked temper, stubborn temperament, and little patience. As the series progresses, however, she gradually shows herself to be kind and sensible. Although she regularly displays a somewhat romantic streak- Misty reins in Brock when he becomes enamored with cute girls, often pulling him away by the ear. She has a slight rivalry with Ash, and she is also terrified of most Bug-type Pokémon.

Similarly, he is often awed by Lupin's genius, but refuses to show it.

Additionally, Kagami chose the humanities course in her second year so that she could be with her friends, but she was the only one separated into a different classroom; the same occurred in her third year.

The main character, a high school teacher and the youngest son of the Itoshiki family. He always wears a hakama and kimono abroad, preferring flippant casual western clothing in his hometown. When his name is written horizontally it resembles zetsub? (??, "despair"), befitting his extremely negative, paranoid and pessimistic attitude. He often shouts "I'm in despair!" and attempts suicide several times, though rarely with serious intent. Most of the main girls seem to have feelings for him but only because they misunderstand what he said to them (during the episode about them). His negative personality started blossoming when he was in his first year of high school when he 'accidentally' joined a 'Negative' club. Mariko was imprisoned as an infant and raised inside a steel container with human contact consisting of nothing more than a scientist acting as a sort of foster mother through speakers and monitors. Her physical impairment is seen in her atrophied limbs as she moves around in a wheelchair.

Despite the environment she was raised in, Mariko is relatively well developed psychologically. She is extremely homicidal and sadistic, and enjoys torturing and dismembering her victims. However, her personality is not blatantly evil. She is only having fun, seeing killing as a game, and the pleasure she gets from it is equivalent to a child ripping the wings off of an insect or burning ants with a magnifying glass.

Balalaika refers her as a "hardcore terrorist" to the point that Hotel Moscow had to deploy all their commandos as well as Balalaika getting involved in the situation personally should things get out of hand. Revy refers to her as "That Fucking Glasses Bitch". She earned the moniker "Bloodhound of Florencia" for her relentless drive to achieve her objectives. Her tormented past and the smell of blood, gunpowder and muck like that of a sewer rat emanating from her was something Revy understood full well. In combat, Roberta is a truly fearsome opponent, having trained in a wide variety of martial, stealth, and weapon skills.

In the second half of the series, it is revealed that she's one of the twelve HiMEs. Unlike the other HiMEs, she acts solo, without facing either the Orphans, nor the agents of the Searrs Foundation. Instead she focuses on covertly protecting her best friend, Natsuki Kuga, who is also a HiME. It is implied that Shizuru's "HiME mark" is located on her left side, as she is seen placing her hand there on several occasions relating to the HiME, including the interrogation of Yukariko Sanada, before actually being revealed as one. Shizuru's shadow with her element is first seen in episode 20 when she intervenes and has her child, Kiyohime, block Mikoto's attack towards Natsuki.

GGG Super-AI Vehicle Machine, model number GBR-2. His vehicle form is a mobile crane, and he attacks with a rife and a freezing ray, and a Chest Thriller that blows our freezing winds (which he often uses to put out flames). After the initial Primeval attack, HyoRyu is retrofitted with the ability to fire Ul-Tech beams in place of cold from his rifle and gun if he wishes. When first charged with "THE POWER", HyoRyu fires bolts of the mysterious energy from his weapons.
His name means (as Mic noted) "Ice Dragon".

Has a calm, collected, calculating (all compared to EnRyu) personality.

HyoRyu, a very calm and collected character by nature, was chosen for the catagory because his death was done in one of the most dramatic situations possible (Basically, the whole cast sacrifices themselves over a series of battles to allow the hero, Gai, to sacrifice himself and defeat everybody. Basically, everbody dies).

Lacus Clyne's personality can best be described as "tactfully innocent". As a warm-hearted young woman, Lacus's compassion laced with personal wisdom is not reserved for any one type of person. Respectfully graceful as one might expect a female of status to be, she is also quite playful, not simply able to dispel the fears of the public with words as they move forward, but able to brighten a situation with her mannerisms. Although appearing to possess a great amount of innocence, it is merely the shrink-wrap on her personal experiences, hiding how much she truly knows.

I picked Lacus basically to change the pace on my characters. Most of them are extremely Tsundere or have some form of a mean streak to them. Just to show that I have more than one side to my picks, I drafted Lacus...also, her intelligence laced into her personality makes her one of the best "innocent philosophers" I think we all have seen.

Balalaika (?????, Bararaika?) is the boss of Hotel Moscow. Before joining the mafia, she was a Vozdushno-Desantnye Vojska paratrooper and officer in the Soviet Army during the Soviet war in Afghanistan. She wears her uniform dress coat as a jacket and is always smoking a cigar, in contrast with the other characters who smoke cigarettes. She frequently employs Dutch and the Lagoon Company, apparently because they share a mutual respect. Although she has shown herself to be rather cynical on occasion, she is also a pragmatic and professional businesswoman. She is named after the balalaika, a Russian stringed instrument.

Balalaika can be easily identified by the burn marks which scar most of the right side of her face and neck as well as her chest which she sustained in Afghanistan, earning her the nickname "Fry-Face" by those who dislike her. She has long blonde hair, and usually wears a large overcoat and a low-cut business suit. She appears to be in her 30s or 40s, although taking into account her past military exploits and likely rank (probably a captain, judging from the rank insignia on the shoulder boards of her dress uniform greatcoat and Boris and others on occasion calling her Kapitan ) in the then-Soviet airborne, it is possible that she is actually older.

Kagome Byakudan seems very childish since she carries around a teddy bear named Percival (?????, P?shibaru?) everywhere she goes and talks to him constantly, even referring to him as if he were a real person. She is passive in that she often speaks through Percival, saying things such as 'Percival thinks..', rather than 'I think...'

Tomo is a very hyper energetic and competitive girl, despite being nonathletic and a slacker. She is extremely impulsive and never considers—nor cares about—the consequences of anything she says or does. She and Yomi are seen as manzai comedians with Tomo acting as the boke and Yomi acting as the tsukkomi. This usually irritates those around her, especially Yomi, her classmate since elementary school. Because of this, and her usually awful test scores (in which she has a perverse pride), she is the de facto leader of the "Bonkuras" (translated as "Knuckleheads" or "Bonklers" in the anime and "Numbnuts" in the manga), along with Osaka and Kagura. She is, however, capable of doing well if she tries—though the only notable instance of this is getting admitted to their prestigious high school, and she only did this to annoy Yomi. She also likes to irritate Yomi by teasing her about her weight insecurity- Even to the point of working out Yomi wrote into a radio show under the name "Tearful Little Diet Girl", much to Yomi's chagrin. Tomo's favourite foods are fried chicken, egg roll and meat-balls.

For the final (60th) pick for this draft, I draft android/cyborg Lamia Loveless for my remaining Catagory (Non-human)


Lamia Loveless, AKA W17, is a cyborg (official name is "Artificial Human") created by military officer Lemon Browning to counter a revolution by parts of the military. Each cyborg was given the designation W__, where the blank is the version they are.

The revolution, reaching extreme levels, was halted when the remaining military, Lemon Browning and the W series in tow, built a teleporter and moved to a new dimension. In that dimension, they decided that the best course of action was to create endless violence, which would spark increased technology, which would futher humanity. Lamia was sent as a spy against one of that universe's greatest military teams, the ATX team. Over the course of time, Lamia changed sides and defeated her old companions.

When she first appears, Lamia Loveless is known for having a somewhat stilted speech pattern (causing her to have troubles in speaking in the proper grammar) or a stutter. She tends to be very calm and relaxed, but also a bit awkward socially. Her skills as a pilot are exceptional and efficient, and can operate complicated technology with ease. Lamia is also quite intelligent, and her gentle beauty creates an atmosphere that makes it hard for other people to approach her. In Original Generation 2, she is very close to fellow ATX Team member, Excellen Browning, addressing her as "Ms. Excell" (Ex-Oneesama; literally Dear Sister Ex in Japanese) often (although it was really Excellen who suggested that Lamia call her that). She sometimes has trouble understanding human behavior, such as when Excellen gets Buddhas and hot cakes confused in the saying "Like a Buddha in Hell".
