I'm sure many of you have heard about the recent Dark Souls PC petition (which I happily signed day 1), but for those who haven't here's the basics.
Dark Souls is a console exclusive game (360 and PS3) released back in October. It has a huge following and has sold millions of copies. Recently, a representative from Namco said that the reason it didn't have a PC version was because they weren't sure if it would do well, but that if they could prove them wrong there would always be a chance one would be considered. So a few people threw together a "Dark Souls for PC" petition about a week ago, and already it has over 60,000 signatures! Not only that, but Namco has come back to acknowledge it, which brings a lot of hope to those who would want the game on PC.

So here's a thread where you can discuss the possibility of such a port, and better yet, sign the petition.

I would actually be interested in this game for the PC. I don't own an Xbox 360 or PS3, but I've seen my friends playing it and it looks like a game I'd appreciate.

I'm not sure a petition will be much comfort. The question is what the higher ups think of this.

If they think people who signs this are the type to purchase it for the sale of 60 bucks, sure. If it can be ported well, cool. The risk is pretty low here...the game looks easily portable. Another questions is who they think is signing this...if memory serves, Namco supports Ubisoft in its DRM licensing. If they think the signers are the type to s*** all over the floor because it has some, they'll probably skip over...also, if they think the fans are the type to go nuts with illegal distribution, their workers may be better off putting their work into a better venture.

It will be interesting to watch though. I support grassroots movements...it's just a question of if the fanbase's reputation is bad or if they have trust in a fairly (and fir good reason!) sketchy past of video game players and their motives.
