I just got this from Gamefly a few days ago... what an awful, boring game. I'm sending it back today.

There are a lot of horrible things about this game I could make fun of, but the stupidest part has to be how ridiculously shallow the interaction system is.

>Go in front of starving beggar
>"Please sir, if I don't eat soon, I'll die"
>Start whistling and dancing for them
>"THAT WAS SPLENDID!"

...what the fuck.

That OVER the fact that the maps are so innately impossible to navigate that you basically HAVE to quick travel?

You mean "We promised you the moon, but ran out of time, so we'll give you our beta game"?

None of them are that good. 2 is the best, but it's mediocre.

But in order to do that, I would have needed to PLAY Morrowind to begin with...which means I'd need to buy it...and buying costs money...and I earn half of minimum wage.

What's your steam?

I'll gift you deus ex or morrowind if one gets an encore sale today (with a good price, and there's nothing else for me to get). You definitely have to try one out (though deus ex is better in my opinion).

Skyrim looks like it might end up worse than oblivion though. In a recent interview when calling their rpg a "hardcore rpg", they also called call of duty a "hardcore shooter".

They did....what...Oh no, oh NO! I'm going to hope for the best, but by the Virgin Mary that is scary to think about. Any time something gets compared to Call of Duty....

Yeah, it screwed dragon age 2 over for trying to capture Call of duty's audience. Thing is, call of duty's audience isn't interested (for the most part) in anything other than rehashed generic shooters or sports games. They aren't going to go out and try rpgs because they typically don't have the patience.

Bioshock infinite is also looking a bit grim now. Regen health, and only two weapons / vigor (plasmid) slots have been confirmed. Complete consolization.

Unfortunately no. I think it's pretty hard to pretend that game is a good sequel.
