Actually, the first one has such a good feeling to look at, the colors are synonymous, and the Half-Life 2 Gordon fits so well...just awesome!

Actually I was thinking, try a fill more space, I really don't need that much space at all. Sorry for making you work so hard, plus my task bar sort of cuts off their names a little ^_^ But I would be nice if you could make it so a lot more space is taken up, plus you don't have to make it so linear, make it seem more open, if that's OK with you. Also can you do it without the boxes? Sort of goes with the whole open feel, if you can, like fill space, but make the space sort vlend in, if that makes any sense at all. :) Plus I'm pretty flexible with my icons. Also, maybe even more so colourful?

It's okay, all I really have to do is push it up.
But the linear fits the brushes that I used, so I don't know if I can change that~
Unfortunately, I saved the original with the borders already on there, so basically, I can't do anything about that, unless you want me to remove the few pixels that are there.
Colorful, I can try, but I would have liked the two-color scheme because the images made it stand out a bit more. I would need some more in-depth descriptions on what you really want~ >-<

First of all, I feel that I want something with a lot more pizazz! Make it stand out, looking at Dally's signature, the background colours stand out and are colourful and make it seem exciting, I liked that. I know what you the linear part, but if you can, make it more evenly spread out, it seems to be just pushed to one side sort of. I know you're dealing with an odd number here, but you don't have to assign each character to specific spot in a box on the background, make it seem more natural and make things bland into each other. I know obviously you can't draw each character into one picture, but again, try to make everything all blend in and make it really colourful. Don't worry about space, actually fill as much of it as you can, I could just put all my Icons into one file folder if I wanted. Again looking at Dally's signature, you don't have Kotomi or Tsukasa confined to anything, I know it's just a signature, but thinking along those lines again, you don't have to confine a everyone to one spot on the background or have them bordered in. If you can find the right pictures, make it so everyone is out in the open.



If not...
If you can't really change that, and have to use the boxes or sections, then try putting 6 on top and 6 on the bottom and one in the middle and you could put the 'Smarts are Beautiful' part above the picture in the middle. You could even make the picture in the middle bigger than the rest, like have Miyuki in the middle and have Yuki, then Kotomi, then Tamao and on the bottom Mio, Mugi and Kikyo. And instead of having boxes, try have like a fade out effect around the pictures if you can, instead of it being like a border. But Still try making the background colorful and unique, instead of a solid color if you can do that.

@ AOI: Yeah, nonononono. You have to understand how hard it is to render images to be able to get transparent backgrounds. Plus, it gets soo terribly messy, and that was one reason why I could not take to this idea. I understand that it looks good in signatures at times, but it gets so crammed in there, especially depending on size. And resizing it makes either the top of bottom room-free, and there is nearly nothing to throw in there that can make it look nice.

I can make certain colors pop, but you're just throwing so many characters in there, that I can't choose certain colors for /all/ of the images that would make it fit nicely, because otherwise, you'll have some blue-colored image here, a red-there, and the background is supposed to be the back-up, but it cannot cover for the entire wallpaper itself. You have to be more careful on what you're relying on, what you're using, and what the subjects main colors are being based upon. It's not as easy as you're making it seem.

I understand you don't care about space, but it is more than that. It is how many characters you are cramming, and how the quality is based on, and whether or not I can actually make it fit and look somewhat organized. It's more complicated, because at first, the quality of the images contrasted so much that it was near-impossible to make it look good /at/ all.

@ If Not: The reason I used boxes was because I was trying a mixture of colors that would actually fit and make the background stand out a little, which does indeed, transfer back to the images, because you have a light background, but the images' colors are placed out to see more. Because you simply cannot have black on white and call it finished.

See, the fade-out effect works when you are capturing the attention of one or two things. I didn't find it very amusing to myself to have the fade out effect on every single character because it would seem like a rather novice wallpaper. I'll see what I can do.

Yeah.. I had trouble deciding on color, so I chose a more dark one and brighter, then I had trouble with placement. Then I discovered that it was requested with a black background, but I had just finished those four. So I just put them up just for fun.
