Heh. I enjoy this series so much, mt #1 for sure as of right now. The story of it just drags you in and leaves you asking for more. The problem is that people usually leave for the gore, I'm ok with that, but really, the story is where it's at.

becouse of the story and the characters personality (and the gore).
This time, the story is not about a hero who has, lets see, dog ears and saves the world from the evil... and the happyend blah blah blah. I love it becouse its so different.

What do you think of the manga? I've looked and people seems to have different opinion about it. I want to know because I'm saving up, and I'm planning to buy it.

i got the first volume, and read about a third of it so far, it seems to follow the anime with some minor differences

that said, i have no clue what order the arcs themselves will go in when compared with the anime

Hey, Ive recently started watching Higurashi and Im hooked... but I just now realized something... I skipped like half of the first seasons episodes and jumped right o KAI without knowing it!!!!! It was almost a seamless jump in the story so everything made sense. It really didnt ruin it too much for me I guess because I already had seen a few of the characters go crazy and kill others from random YouTube videos but it would have kept me more enthralled to watch the crazy unfold and find out like a week later! Oh teh wells...

Im now halfway through KAI... Any of you guys think I should go back and see the other episodes before continuing? All that really bothers me is that the flashback sequences sometimes dont make sense but thats all...

I bought volume 1 (limited edition :D) of Higurashi no naku koro ni on DVD. It had 5 episodes, and I enjoyed every one of them. I was surprised at how good the story was but I will admit that it was kinda confusing.

However, even though I love it I still think it's a little overrated, but that's just my opinion.
