Well, I have found a place to study Japanese. In a couple of years I might go to Japan and pay my tributes to Yoshimizu-sama. Oh, and raid Comiket. I want doujins.....and the original Volumes in japanese.
Would you do the same?

No, just because anime comes from Japan, doesn't mean I care about learning japanese or visiting Japan. I'm perfectly happy streaming dubs on youtube like the entry-level fag I am.

YEEESSSSS!!!!!!!
First of all: Lucky Lucky You on finding a place to undertake lessons in nihongo. I'm still looking but so far I haven't found anyone teaching Japanese here in Youngstown Ohio. VERY frustrating.
Secondly: a Fan Pilgrimage is exactly the reason I will travel to Japan. In engaging in a Fan Pilgrimage, I will actually see more of Japan -- and more of Real Japan -- than most Official Tourists do (going to their Official Tourist Sites). And, I know (through posts on this site and others, for example) that I must tread carefully and be a Good Tourist and a Respectful Visitor when travelling so far off the beaten path. "Shame on the road is written off" DOES NOT APPLY. Thus, I am educating myself so that I will leave these places un-bruised by my passing.

Lucky Star related doujin, of course!
And yes, I would love to go to Japan to learn of another culture, like Haruka mentioned. But anime and manga is what introduced me to Japan, and it kinda has more priority.
Not complaining or being critic about your answers :P Just want to know your opinions
@Dally well, that's what you chose. I want to go crazy in Japan, some people I know want to do it too. After that I might tour Europe, who knows? But my priority is Saitama :)

I would love to know Japanese, but I won't take time to actually learn it, at least not just because of anime and manga. But I do want to visit Japan in not a too distant future, as well as China and South Korea.

Yes, Japan makes sweet anime, manga, and video games, but I don't agree with many aspects of their society (mainly stuff in Japanese law), so I wouldn't go there for a long stay, probably a week tops.
Besides, Germany is gonna be my first foreign country I visit. 8)

I do study Japanese, but not sure about going there anytime soon... My older sis' was there for a year, and she said it was not like anything at all she thought it would be, and when I asked her would she go again, she said no.
I do like Japanese culture, and the fact they make soooo good anime & manga x3

I'm curious... any examples of the laws you disagree with?

If I ever had the money, I be in Japan at the first opportunity. I would like to see some of their major touring spots, but I wouldn't miss Akihabara or Comiket for the world.
