Considering it being a mainstream rock band, it's pretty good. Songs like Headfirst for Halos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8vurKQ1RJk), Hang 'Em High (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJRL9oKu2ts), House of Wolves (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6GisaqlI80) and Mama (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odxvslDTS-I) are great. The first song I ever heard of the band was Hang 'Em High in 2005 and it is still my favourite MCR song.
MCR's guitarist, Frank Iero's sideband Leathermouth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leathermouth) is better than MCR, though.

My brother introduced me to them back in 2003 when we found their 1st album over at some music store.
Also, Leathermouth is also great. I have their album.

This is from my blog post on their site
Greetings,
Back in the summer of 2003 I was introduced to a band called My Chemical Romance. I became a huge fan of them ever since. Over the next three years I listened to them extensively. I never got the pleasure of seeing them live, sadly. I have fond memories of them involving me listening to their music. It really reminds me of my childhood. I still remember in 2006 (It's ALREADY been 4 years?!) having a countdown to wait for the release of "The Black Parade" and watching/recording all of their live performances on TV. I was a dedicated fan. I was the most obsessive MCRmy recruit in my town. However, I was introduced to other bands around 2007, and I suddenly lost interest in My Chem. I would listen to many other bands and it started to overtake my MCR obsession. Most notably my Queen obsession that took over.
About a week or two ago, I found my old CD collection in a little case. Inside it I found a copy of "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge," the same album that got me hooked. I popped it in the stereo, and the second the opening lyric for "Helena" came on, a wave of nostalgia flew over me. I had this barrage of memories involving their music. Staying up late at night waiting for the premiere of the music videos from TBP, the long car trips with MCR endlessly looping on the iPod, all the MCR pictures inside my locker, my best friend that introduced me to them in the first place, a huge wave of it. My obsession rebooted. As a vocalist, guitarist, bassist, and drummer, I can say that the musicianship put into this is excellent. Every single time I hear Ray pump out a solo, I can definitely hear the classic rock and heavy metal influence. And as a frontman and entertainer, the showmanship is amazing. I can clearly see the Queen and Iron Maiden influence in Gerard's frontman-ship. As soon as I saw these, I searched for all my old My Chem albums and went out and bought "The Black Parade is Dead!" and they were better than ever! Gerard never missed a note and Ray didn't either! It was better than listening to the original studio album.
All I can say now is, thank you My Chemical Romance. Thank you for the great music, and thank you for making me have a resurgence in my interest, ha. I can't wait for the next studio album.
