Saban Entertainment has announced that they have re-acquired the rights to the hit children's television show and franchise Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, which was bought out by Disney back in the early 2000s. The next season will premiere on Nickelodeon during the first quarter of 2011.

If it weren't for Power Rangers, we probably would never have the fantastic actors in dubbed anime! So... I give them props for that.

well, power rangers had their era. I think they were the shit when they started, but they gradually became sorta shitty and repetitive, although I still sorta liked From Space, Time Force and Wild Force.

Billy? He was actually my favorite, mostly because I liked the color blue.

I was 6 and it was my first bishie!!!

And I started watching it and loved it BEFORE Tommy showed up!! x3

Now I watch him and go "wtf was I thinking?!!?" xD

Still like it tho. up until Wild Force tho. Everything after that was either boring as heck or full of majik. (Dino Thunder being the only exception as it had that nostalgic MMPR feel to it.)

The new series will be aired alongside all seventeen previous seasons of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers series. http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118022158?refCatId=18

On another note, the new season will be called Power Rangers: Samurai, as it is based on the Super Sentai series Samurai Sentai Shinkenger. It will run for a total of 40 episodes in its first season, and the Samurai theme will continue on for a total of two seasons. Saban also plans for an aggressive marketing tactic in getting this new series out into the public. They'll never redeem themselves for having Disney rerun the old show instead of starting a new one every year.
