Is It Possible To FanDub L*S?

I caught part of Those5Guys' live video meeting about answering abridging questions, and one came up that was, "was there ever a series that you felt was impossible to abridge?" FullMetalChao said, "Lucky Star. It can't be done."

Yes, not in the traditional sense. But can someone find another way to do it? Is it easier to produce a one-shot? How would you do it?

It's possible. But since it's mostly girls you need to find girls that have the voice and talent to do it properly.

I remember coming across some bits of the OVA fandubbed, and it was done really well.

Yeah sorry, I had a Tsukasa Moment. I mean 'ABRIDGE'... not dub. The fandubs are very well done because the ones who do it are usually around the teenage years (as the characters in the show) and the script is already there for them to translate!

But ABRIDGING takes a lot more creativity!

I didn't announce if I'll do an Abridged L*S. But getting the mic is making me more motivated to use it for SOMETHING!

Here's an idea: it's hard to abridge the show because it basically IS abridging itself already. So why not just do the flip of that: giving the show a STORY and making it a DRAMA?! :D

You could abridge the first episode pretty easy. Others, not so much. it's slice of life, so there really isnt a storyline that flows through one episode. So yes, I think it would be impossible to abridge it. If you tried, it wouldn't be as funny.

That's why I'm saying if you GIVE it a story, it would be just as different as a comic abridged version of a serious show! But it would take some writing finesse.

Okay! If I get enough good ideas and a script, I may consider trying to do one and prove FullMetalChao wrong! :D I don't see you acting to the clips- the script should be all you need.
